Dearfoams Men's University of Kansas Clog

Time of the year again. Friends, family, food and lots of warmth. For most of the people meeting-up on thanksgiving is as important as the thanksgiving food. And if you have thought and planned it all ... the food, the guests, the invitations, the decorations, the preparation, a little check on your checklist - have you thought of your look for the turkey day?

If you are the hostess, you need to be very practically dressed. You would be required to cook and serve as the hostess. So your dress needs to be functional along with being pretty. Do not put on your evening's attire until you have finished cooking. It might spoil your dress. But your guests can still arrive while you are cooking. So wear knitted pants with a semi formal blouse while cooking, or wear something that is casual and chic so that you are presentable and ready to welcome your guests. After you have finished cooking, change into your thanksgiving dress and do not forget the accessories and jewelry. Dress festively, but not too loud. It would be wise to wear a jacket that can be removed if you feel hot while in the kitchen.

When you choose your dinner dress, be sure it is classy but not flashy. Being informally dressed is a great idea. The feast essentially means warmth and every aspect should compliment the warmth. You cannot be uncomfortably dressed.

Remember to keep a scarf so that you are not bothered if it is too cold or too warm. Wrapping the scarf around your neck will keep you warm, and if it gets too warm, just take it off. Match it with your dress for added fashion.

This can be slightly unusual but since you are going to be with your family or close friends, it is very likely that you would kick off your shoes and get comfortable. Have a nice pair of slippers and socks (if you are not wearing them) you can bring with you to feel more like home. And if you're staying home, well then your feet should still be on their best behavior for the day (relaxed and perfumed) - especially if relatives or friends are coming over!

For your jewelry, wear fine jewelry in diamonds or colored gemstones but do not go overboard. A great idea would be to keep it subtle and elegant. Wear solitaires and studs, they have an ageless appeal to them.
